Social Media Video Production: Make Reels That Stop the Scroll
Social video is crowded. Viewers decide in a moment whether to keep watching, so a Reel needs to look and feel better than what surrounds it. Here is how professional studios approach it.
Hook in the first second
Open on motion, a striking image or a clear promise. Avoid slow logo intros. The first frame is your headline.
Shoot vertical on purpose
Frame for 9:16 from the start rather than cropping widescreen later. Keep faces and key product details away from the edges where app interface elements sit.
Pace for the feed
Short, purposeful shots keep attention. Cut on action, vary angles and remove anything that does not move the story forward.
Design for sound-off and sound-on
Many people watch muted, so add clean captions. For those with sound on, strong music and sound design make the video feel premium.
Keep a consistent look
A signature colour grade across every post makes your content recognisable in a second. This is where colour grading becomes a brand asset rather than a finishing touch.
Plan a batch, not a single post
Shooting several Reels in one day is far more cost-efficient and keeps quality consistent. A simple monthly content plan with a mix of product, behind-the-scenes and story-led videos works well.
Repurpose smartly
One shoot can produce a hero film, several vertical cut-downs, square versions for feeds and still frames for ads.
Cinematic does not mean slow
Our social content is shot like cinema and edited for the feed: vertical, square or wide, with the same finish as a commercial. See examples on our work page, then get a quote for your next campaign.
